Andrés Felipe Sossa’s career path began in Colombia, where he did his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of the Andes. After that, he worked in consulting for two years before deciding to pursue a master’s degree in Water Resources at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. A friend there told him about CEW and convinced him to do an internship here. At CEW, Andrés worked on two projects. The first was in collaboration with the company Aquabiosolve and in it he tested and validated the treatment of effluent water from greenhouses through electro remediation. The second project was in collaboration with the company Aquisense, and in it he tested and validated a new product with LED UV-C light that will be launched for general consumers with drinking water supplies at the point of use.
During his internship, Andrés learned to trust himself and that when you trust yourself, everything becomes much easier. He used this insight during his master’s thesis at Wetsus, on, “The fate of MPs in source separated sanitation systems,” which he completed at the end of August. In September, he completed his final exam and received his master’s degree. There was not much time for a well-deserved vacation, as Andrés had already been hired at DeSaH, a company well known to WaterCampus and with which he worked directly during his master’s thesis. Andrés will start at DeSaH in December this year as a Process Engineer, in which role he will supervise a project and assist with pilots.
