My name is Hendrik Link and I am studying Leisure & Events Management at NHL Stenden University. My hobbies are sports, going out, going to festivals and playing chess. A fun fact about me is that I play soccer and fitness three times a week on the same day.
While looking for an internship, I came across the vacancy of CEW. Because it really appealed to me, I decided to apply. An introductory interview followed, about which I was very positive. The assignments that CEW came up with completely matched my learning goals and, most importantly, I had a good feeling about them. And so I decided to go for it!
At the moment I’m working on a project about reducing the use of drinking water in the Municipality of Leeuwarden and organising the Water Campus Experience Day, a big open day of all the WaterCampus parties, for the inhabitants of Leeuwarden and surrounding areas. I am working closely with a public administration student and several communication and multimedia design students. Together we are setting up a survey to ask the inhabitants of Leeuwarden about their drinking water consumption and we are, for example, developing means to attract visitors to the open day.
What I like most about my internship are the colleagues and the freedom to do what you want with your research. I did have to get used to the fact that it sometimes takes a long time for your answer when you ask questions to external parties. This also taught me that it is important to be patient and that you can prepare other things while waiting for an answer.
I don’t know exactly what I will do after my internship, I will decide when it is over!
