Apart from studying, I try to come up with ground-breaking ideas to make sometimes changes in daily life routine. When I find free time, I mostly travel with friends, I like socialising and I am always curious to know new places and the history behind it. Nature is the place where I find the inner peace. Hiking and walking in nature are activities that I also do in my leisure time. I am continuously looking forward to new opportunities and experiences which can broaden my horizon in professional and personal life.
I have finished my bachelor studies for environmental engineering and currently, I am doing my masters. During my second year of studies, I was involved in a project for Plant Toxicity Tests at the Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Waste Management of the University of Stuttgart. Alongside being a full-time student, I have also worked for a while as a student assistant nearby the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems of the University of Stuttgart.
In addition, I dedicated a part of my time as a student in the admission office as student representative of the WAREM program. For almost one year I have been involved as the Public Relations Officer of the IAHR (International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research) Baden-Württemberg Young Professionals Network.
I was looking for an internship which would help me growing professionally, improve my skills and which would be a great step towards becoming a better and useful engineer solving water related issues. My course director informed me about the CEW and the innovative projects. I did my research on CEW and found that CEW does much more than that, such as: development of fundamental research into practical application, research and application that are directly linked to the market, collaboration with researchers and students. At CEW you can experience the whole project from theoretical scientific knowledge to practical work performance. All these opportunities intrigued me, and I got convinced that this is the right place to do my internship. Working in the friendly environment and with a motivated team has been an inspiration for continuing my journey as a professional water engineer with clear goals.
During my 6 months as an intern at CEW I have made improvements in my organisation and communication skills by making plans, keeping deadlines and collaborating with students and researchers. I also made improvements on my analysing skills, scientific and critical way of thinking, discovering my weak and strong points on writing a project. I can say I am really enjoying the time being part of CEW and trying to make the best out of it.
My first goal is finishing my master thesis successfully, and graduating my master studies. After that I will be looking for job opportunities which can fulfil my passion of being part of clean water production and wastewater treatment areas. Such as wastewater treatment and reuse, water filtration or sustainable water supply projects which combine theory and practice together. I would like to become a researcher, so going through PhD studies is also an aspiration for me.
